The Literary Digest
The Literary Digest was an American general interest weekly magazine published by Funk & Wagnalls. It was founded in 1890 by Isaac Kaufmann Funk. It eventually merged with two similar magazines, Public Opinion and Current Opinion. There is an interesting article in this issue under their "Science and Invention" section showcasing "An exhibition of Flying-Machines." The article highlights the Paris "Aero-Club", which was the most noted organization devoted to aerial navigation which held an exhibition of aeroplanes and other heavy flying-machines, or "apparatus of aviation."
