IBM Plug Board

Small (12 3/4" x 11") plug board type 912. IBM made many types of wiring panels but we could not find much on this. One article from 1967 lists the Type 912 among several other wiring panels...901, 911, and 917.1 It was listed as being needed for either the IBM 1401 and/or the IBM 1620 computers in a college program.

This wiring panel came pre-programmed with 115 wires but it will take someone more experienced than I to figure out what it was set up to do.

Oddly enough, just below the list of wiring panels was a list of Miscellaneous Equipment and it included three Friden Flexowriters, and a MINIVAC 601 both of which are in our collection.

The date is a guess. We know they were in use by the mid-1960s but it might be much earlier.
